VideoCassette Recoder (VCR) Playback
  • Purpose: In playback mode, and linked through the videoconferencing system,the VideoCassette Recorder (VCR) broadcasts video images onto the screens at remote sites.
  • In recording mode, the VCR allows for capturing the images produced either at the origination site or broadcast through the videoconferencing system onto videotape. If you wish to record a session, refer to the instructions for recording which follow.
  • (Note: Your VCR may look slightly different from the one pictured.)

Test the VCR at least 15 minutes before the event starts. After installation, the VCR should remain hooked up at all times with the Channel set to 02.

  • Use the VCR’s remote control to turn the unit on.
  • Insert the videotape for playback.
  • Use the VCR’s remote control to play the videotape.
  • Run a test by selecting the "VCR" preview button on the PictureTel system’s Keypad.
  • Check to see that the videotape is appearing on the graphics monitor.
  • End the test by stopping the tape with the VCR’s remote control, then press the Keypad’s "MAIN CAMERA" preview button.
Slide Projector
  • Purpose: The Slide Projector broadcasts the images captured on 35 mm slide film onto the video screen.
  • Features: This projector includes a circular slide tray holding up to 80 slides.

Test the Slide Projector at least 15 minutes before the event starts. After installation, the Slide Projector should remain hooked up at all times.

  • Turn the power switch for the slide projector on.
  • Place the circular slide tray, with the slides correctly inserted, on the projector.
  • Use the projector’s "ADVANCE" button to select the first slide.
  • If the slide projector is attached through the Document Camera, then press the "INPUT" button on the front of the Document Camera until that button’s green light is on.
  • Run a test by pressing the PictureTel system Keypad’s "DOCUMENT CAMERA" preview button.
  • Check to see that the first slide appears on the graphics monitor.
  • Adjust the focus and zoom as needed using the control buttons on the slide projector.
  • End the test by pressing the Keypad’s "MAIN CAMERA" preview button.
