Preceptor Development Program (PDP)

Effective Precepting:

Healthcare professionals strive to maintain and improve their knowledge in order to provide the highest quality care possible. For many of you, this passion for excellence extends into other areas of your lives, including your teaching.

Becoming a teaching "connoisseur" requires more than just experience. It involves careful study and testing of teaching techniques, as well as, an exchange of ideas with other preceptors. (Whitman, 1990, see Resources & Links) See what others have said about excellence in teaching.

We all have had many teachers in our years of training. Who was the best teacher you can recall (clinical or otherwise)? What techniques or characteristics made that person such an excellent teacher? We’d love to hear about your “best” teacher.

Go to Talk Back with Dr. PDP to share your experiences.
