Health Science Students
Student Housing Information - Asheville and Hendersonville
MAHEC offers a variety of housing throughout Western North Carolina. This includes housing in the immediate Asheville/Hendersonville
area, (including Arden, Black Mountain, Clyde, Fletcher, Mars Hill, Skyland, Swannanoa, and Weaverville). First preference
is given to health professions students from in-state AHEC-funded rotations. Other applications will be accepted,
space permitting, on a first-come, first-served basis.
We require all students to complete a MAHEC Housing Agreement and an online housing request at the myAHEC website
before your housing can be confirmed. Once the housing is reserved, you will receive information and directions by email.
Because keys are mailed, housing applications must be completed
at least a month prior to the start of the rotation.
Housing in Asheville/Hendersonville Area
Housing in the immediate Asheville/Hendersonville area is managed by the MAHEC Facilities Department,
Lisa Ogle, 828-257-4427. Please read the housing descriptions and complete the on-line housing agreement and information forms.

Housing outside Asheville/Hendersonville Area
Housing outside the Asheville/Hendersonville area is arranged after you have completed an online housing request at the
MyAHEC website. If you have any questions, please e-mail ORPCE Associate Director Gaye Colvin, MLIS
or call at (828-771-3434). Because this housing is extremely limited, please do not assume
your request will automatically be honored. A completed NC AHEC Community Primary Care Rotation form must be on file
before housing can be assigned for these areas. In other words, rotations outside immediate Asheville/Hendersonville
area can only be confirmed if housing is available.
