MAHEC's Division of Dentistry seeks to fill a full time, benefited Business Office Specialist position with responsibilities in scheduling, front desk check-in, check-out, posting charges, and medical records. High school diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of medical office experience required. Experience working in a dental practice with multiple physicians and with patient billing preferred. Experience as a Dental Assistant and/or Dental Hygienist a plus.

DIRECTOR, DEPARTMENT OF NURSING EDUCATION
Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in Asheville, NC seeks qualified applicants for the Director of Nursing Education position. Primary responsibilities involve department leadership in providing a variety of regional programs and activities for the licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel in the MAHEC 16-county region, including continuing nursing education, consultation/technical assistance, and special projects; strategic, tactical, and operational planning for the Nursing Education Department in line with the ever-changing needs of MAHEC, the region, and the healthcare environment; coordination of departmental activities within the division, in collaboration with other NC AHEC regions, and with other regional institutions and agencies. Position directly supervises the department’s Associate Directors. Successful candidates will have: Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing with earned Master’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related area; active NC RN license; valid driver’s license; at least five (5) years of progressive professional experience in nursing practice and/or nursing education; experience and/or interest in adult education; demonstrated leadership abilities; demonstrated skills in management/administration; comprehensive knowledge of nursing education, practice, and health care delivery trends/issues; basic MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills; and excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. LIBRARY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

Health Education Center’s (MAHEC) Health Sciences Library seeks to fill a full time Library Technical Assistant position for information desk and circulation services. Responsibilities include copy cataloging, serials check-in, online catalog serials system services, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and general administrative support. High School diploma or equivalent and three years of library experience or a comparable combination of education/experience required. Valid driver’s license required. Library Technical Assistant or Associate’s Degree, experience in a healthcare setting, and Spanish-speaking skills preferred. Successful candidates will also have a strong customer service orientation, considerable experience with online computer systems and Internet searching, advanced word processing and basic spreadsheet experience, A/R and A/P experience, and the ability to multi-task, work as a team player, and independently make decisions. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and instruct at a variety of skill levels in one-on-one situations. M-F, 9am-6pm.

PRACTICE MANAGER - DENTAL HEALTH CENTER
MAHEC’s Dental Division seeks to fill a full time position primarily responsible for the administrative, financial and staffing functions of the clinic as well as management and coordination of all aspects of the Residency Program. Responsibilities also include operations oversight for strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, business office, patient billing and patient care activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, business or other related field with minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in a healthcare environment, including budgeting and supervisory experience. Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills and strong initiative and problem-solving skills required. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as ability to develop dental software technology skills required. Master’s in healthcare administration, professional certification in practice management (CMPE), experience in dental clinic administration to include billing and collections and demonstrated experience using a systems approach for quality improvement initiatives preferred.
