CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

MAHEC is recognized by the North Carolina Psychology Board as an approved provider of Category A Continuing Education for North Carolina Licensed Psychologists. Full attendance is required to receive credit from the Psychology Board. 20.0 hours
MAHEC designates this continuing education activity as meeting the criteria for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as established by the National Task Force on the Continuing Education Unit. 2.0 CEUs of continuing education credit will be offered. You must attend the entire conference classes to receive CEUs. CEUs are accepted by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Work.
The pre-conference session is 3.0 hours.
Ethics, HIV and Clinical Supervision hours earned will be noted on certificates.
CONFERENCE INFORMATION
Kanuga Conference Center: Lodging Accommodations
All participants who elect to stay overnight at Kanuga will be housed at the Kanuga Conference Center in the cottages, guest houses, or at the Lake Inn. Kanuga Conference Center is situated on 1400 mountain acres. Easy access to hiking, biking and the lake allows for recreation. Please bring comfortable shoes, layers and rain gear.
The Inn is a hotel with key entry doors. Rooms are not equipped with telephones or televisions. Pay phones and wireless internet access are available in the Kanuga Lake Inn Lobby. The cabins and guest houses are designed to help guests connect with the outdoors and travel back to a simpler time. There are no locks on the exterior doors. Cottages and guest houses have mini kitchens with refrigerators. For guests who are still finding their comfort zone with the open and “low-tech” experience, we highly encourage early registration and lodging in the Inn. Directions
Take I-26 at US 64W and exit at 64W into Hendersonville. Continue for 2.3 miles. Turn left on South Business 25 (Church Street) and drive 9 blocks. Turn right on Kanuga Street and continue for 3.75 miles. Watch for the brown Kanuga Conference sign and turn right on Kanuga Lake Road. The main entrance is 1.5 miles from the sign on the right. Registration is in the Kanuga Lake Inn.
Air Transportation
Hendersonville is served by the Asheville Regional Airport (10 miles) and Greenville Spartanburg International Airport (30 miles). The Kanuga Bookstore will once again provide conference participants with a wonderful shopping experience!
Child Care
Participants will need to make their own arrangements for child care. Please contact the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce at (828) 692-1413 for possible resources. Please remember, sessions are not appropriate for children.
Special Services
The conference is accessible to the hearing impaired and physically challenged. The Conference Planning Committee will respond to other special requests as resources permit. Call (828) 257-4481 in advance of the conference for more information or assistance.

Other Information
Most cell phones have reception at Kanuga. However, phone service varies by carrier so participants are encouraged to check the coverage area prior to the conference.
REGISTRATION AND FEE INFORMATION
Registration for the 26th Annual ADDICTION: Focus on Women Conference involves a two-step process. First, your registration must be received by MAHEC Registration by April 30, 2012, using the conference registration form or online registration. Registrations are not valid unless accompanied by payment OR a signed approval form from your supervisor indicating that payment will be forthcoming from the agency of your employment. If registering online, the supervisors’s name, phone number, and email must be included. Without supervisory approval, you will be responsible for the registration fee. Second, all participants must verify the registration process at check-in upon arrival at the Kanuga Lake Inn.

ALL FEES ARE DUE AND PAYABLE AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. Multiple registrations from agencies will be accepted but must be accompanied by payment. Photocopies of the registration form will be accepted. If registering for someone else, please make sure all pertinent information is forwarded to them.
Refund requests minus a $50 administrative fee will be honored if received in writing in our offi ce by May 1, 2012. If you do not cancel within the allowed time and you do not attend the conference, you will be invoiced for the entire conference fee. You may send a substitute. Please notify us of this change prior to the conference.

COMPREHENSIVE FULL WEEK CONFERENCE:
The comprehensive tuition for full-time participants includes all food beginning with dinner on Tuesday through breakfast on Friday, lodging and conference events beginning with a Pre-Conference session on Tuesday through closing on Friday. Also covered are educational materials and use of recreational facilities. Lunch on Friday is not included.
COMMUTER FULL WEEK:
The commuter tuition for full week conference participants includes all events beginning with a Pre-Conference session on Tuesday through closing on Friday. Lunch on Wednesday and Thursday are included, however, breakfast and dinner are not. Monday night lodging is available for $69 and includes Monday dinner through Tuesday lunch. Check-in time for Monday night lodging is 4:00 pm.

CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIPS:
The number and availability of scholarships vary each year. This year there will be approximately 3-5 scholarships available.
